Travel information

The most common ways of getting to Vienna are by aeroplane or by train, but it is reachable also bus or boat from Budapest or Bratislava. Thanks to its location in Central Europe, the Austrian capital is extremely well-connected with the rest of the world.

By train

Vienna's train main station is centrally located and has good connections to the public transport network. With the Wien City Card, you'll enjoy total mobility the moment you arrive at the station, with subway, tram, and bus connections. 

The Vienna Central Train Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof) is the most modern and important national and international transportation hub in Austria. All of Austrian Federal Railways’ (ÖBB) long-distance trains stop here and at the Wien-Meidling station a bit further south. Linking the west, south, north and east lines creates two opportunities to switch trains. Nearly every long-distance destination served by the ÖBB can be reached with a maximum of one change of trains. Railjets and Intercity Express (long-distance) trains coming from the west also go to the Central Train Station, meaning a change to one of the southern lines takes no time at all. State capitals Bregenz, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Klagenfurt, Linz and St. Pölten are connected directly to Vienna’s airport via the Main Station.

By car

Austria has excellent network of motorways, expressways and federal highways. As tolls are compulsory on all motorways and expressways in Austria, you will also need a vignette to use Vienna's city motorways.

By plane

Vienna's central position in Europe makes it a hub offering optimal transportation connections to and from the whole world. Vienna Airport is well connected to the public transportation network and the city center can be reached quickly, comfortably and cheaply by train or bus. 

The City Airport Train (CAT) plies between the Airport and the City Center Air Terminal every 30 minutes daily from 06:08 am to 11.38 pm and from the City Center Air Terminal to the Airport every 30 minutes daily from 05:37 am to 11.07 pm

Public Transports

The participants to the EUPRIO Conference can buy themselves a discounted tickets for the airport transfer and for the public transports (select the preferred option between 3, 4 or 5 days) in the period August 26 - 31, 2023.

Cancellation policy

No refund is possible after closing the order. Therefore, we recommend to buy the tickets in the last few days before the conference dates.

Accommodation

The Organisers signed a few agreements with some hotels nearby the TU Wien, that offers rooms at special rates for participants to the Conference. Each participant is required to select the preferred hotel and book the room directly to the hotel, following the instruction below. 

The Steering Committee Members, who are not speakers, are required to write an email to paola.scioli@euprio.eu for booking their rooms.
