Scientific Communication
Bocconi University

Bocconi graduate in business administration. In the first half of my professional life, I worked in rather large companies specializing in marketing research. After joining the Bocconi communications staff, I held various positions. For the past few years I have been involved in science communication, and I am part of the Media Relations office. Outside the office, I have a regular column in a daily newspaper where I write about issues related to the border communities between Italy and Switzerland.

The Future of Science Communication: AI-Driven Insights and Trends (P)

The workshop aims at providing a quick overview of recent AI developments in language models, image generation, and data processing, with a focus on scientific communication.

The main objectives are:

  • Develop a broader understanding of how future AI could impact science communication
  • Encourage critical thinking around the challenges and ethical implications of AI in science communication
  • Provide participants with a practical, forward-looking strategy to leverage AI in their own institutions, preparing them for an AI-driven landscape.

The workshop will begin with a short presentation about AI tools and their possible applications, followed by some interactive sessions: a small groups brainstorm on hypothetical projects using AI tools to solve current science communication challenges, in which participants are also asked to outline risks for each future AI application discussed and propose solutions or safeguards. To close, there will be a general discussion on skill development, resource needs, and best practices for sustainably integrating AI in the current European academic environment.
