Olsson
Communication Officer
University of West
Sweden

I am Evelina, 43 years old, from the south of Sweden.

I began my career as a singer and performer, which led to a later start in my academic journey. However, my lifelong interest in interpersonal communication has always been a central theme. This passion guided my studies, blending communication with a creative approach.

At University West, my primary focus is on student recruitment, particularly emphasizing in-person interactions. I lead a team of student ambassadors, whom I recruit, mobilize, and train to engage with prospective students. Additionally, I am involved in developing strategic processes and maintaining a long-term, holistic perspective on communication. I have also produced marketing content and movies, further enhancing my ability to connect with diverse audiences. I consider myself a designer of communication, dedicated to fostering meaningful connections.

From prospective student to alumnus: mapping the student journey (W)

This workshop provides a platform for experienced communicators to explore the complex journey of university students—from initial curiosity to becoming engaged alumni.

Together, we will analyze the gaps and challenges students face at every stage of their academic journey. How can we encourage more students to apply for higher education, begin their studies, and ultimately graduate?

By working hands-on with a timeline and diverse student personas, we will identify their specific needs and barriers along the way, while discussing how to implement effective communication strategies that enhance retention and engagement.

This workshop presents an opportunity for the EUPRIO community to share insights, learn, and collaborate to better understand the student journey and the obstacles students face. Together, we can begin forming strategies that will improve our students' experiences and help them maximize their potential!
