This session presents the results of the EUPRIO Mobility Project "Future-Proof Media Relations: Building Trust in Times of Al and Crisis". Based on a mixed-methods study combining a pan-European survey and interviews, we explore how university media relations are organised today, and how Al tools and the changing news media landscape are reshaping our work and our role in building trust.
We position this project as a piece of field research from within the EUPRIO community and beyond. The results will highlight common patterns, but also differences linked to national media ecosystems, institutional size and available resources. Participants will gain a clearer picture of where their own practice sits in the European landscape and will be invited to draw inspiration for future-oriented media relations strategies in their own institutions.
