The Covid pandemic has seen many universities adopt hybrid working patterns which have now become permanent. But what does the new hybrid workplace mean for staff?
How best to support employees’ commitment and sense of belonging in the workplace at a time of hybrid work? Can communication professionals help provide support? This is a key issue for organizations to consider because a sense of belonging is significant for employees’ productivity and well-being at work.
Dr Sari Rajamäki is a researcher in the Department of Language and Communication Studies at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She will present her research on how employees’ sense of belonging may be affected by hybrid working. ‘I will offer you some recent research findings and raise some questions about what could be done by communication professionals to enable employees to feel that they still belong in the hybrid workplace.’
Hannamaija Helander, Communications Manager at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
Following Dr Rajamäki’s presentation of her research, webinar attendees will be invited to ask questions and discuss the issues raised.
Sandra Kramar, Head of Public Relations at the University of Zagreb, Croatia
John Cavani, Director of Marketing and External Relations at Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK
